Steve Talbot: Nortel Networks Scholar

As part of their eCitizenship initiative, Nortel Networks have made a series of scholarships available for engineering and computer science students.  Successful students from the Year in Industry scheme and students from some UK universities were invited to apply for their UK Scholarship Programme.  I was very pleased to be deemed one of the top thirteen Year in Industry students in my academic year nationally and consequently awarded a scholarship.

The launch of the Nortel Networks UK Scholarship Programme was at the House of Commons on the afternoon of Wednesday 14 March 2001.  The photograph above, which appears courtesy of J. Spragg Images, shows the 42 Nortel Networks scholars outside the House of Commons with David Blunkett MP.
